It all started with a vision and an amusing one at that!

"So there was this hobo laying on the side of a railroad track on a red & ecru ticking mattress somewhere in the south…………………, he was styling a corn cob pipe, sassy suspenders & blue jeans. He had a grin from ear to ear as he gazed at the fields of colors for miles and miles", says Ms. Catfish. From that moment, the tag line was discovered, the "charm that ponders the passion of the ol' south" ©

Ms. Catfish turned this vision and dream into a reality in 1993 as she positioned herself to reach a southern audience. She never imagined she would end up being the leader in setting a "cottage trend" in the home décor industry spanning across the country in such a way. So much so, that many top named businesses now follow this trend. From then on, that phrase spread like wild fire throughout the industry and for years to come.

Ms. Catfish's talents and entrepreneurial spirit spread far and wide. They go way back to her roots and upbringing. Let me just tell ya a little bit!

Her first venture was at eight years old where she set up a lemonade stand on her summer break. She strategically placed the stand in front of a large corporate office building occupied by engineers and architects. In her early teenage years, Ms. Catfish's father, mother and five siblings joined in the renovation of their newly purchased 1926 Spanish Country home. Dad said, "we are not moving in until it is perfect!" From that point on, with her raw fingers and tired ol' bones, she learned the value of hard work to perfection on almost no budget!

She spent twelve years studying classical piano, jazz trombone and also studied art, architecture and interior design.

She was aggressively recruited by Disney at the young age of twenty. Instead, she declined the position and plowed into the corporate world. She then worked for many of the top restaurant and hotel design consultants in the world that specialized in interior design, food facility planning and graphic design. At those firms, she designed hundreds of projects.
She also was one of only two women consultants in food facility planing in the country for many years.

By the time she was in her early twenties, Ms. Catfish started her own design practice where she designed theme and chain restaurants to trendy one of a kind restaurants. She also won several awards for her projects and was published in over fifty hardbound books and magazines with outstanding reviews, not to mention a feature editorial in The "Los Angeles Times" Sunday Calendar Section (an outstanding achievement to all those who follow this periodical). In addition, she has been seen on several television shows and news broadcast ranging from ABC News, NBC News, and most recently HGTV (Home and Garden Television) "Outer Spaces", where she designed a landscape project. She was also featured within an episode of HGTV "Collector Inspector", a look into Ms. Catfish Bite's home for a glimpse of her unique furnishings and collectibles.

Ms. Catfish took her experiences in music, interior design, food facility planning, architecture, engineering, graphic design and business and positioned herself with her new enterprise in 1993 to form her own design and manufacturing company, Catfish Bite. She proudly manufactures her own line of bed linens and home accessories in the USA and abroad.
